Overall, I'll definitely use them again when going out of town or for a weekend trip where my car won't cut it.

We planned for months to rent a car & drive from FL to TN to see the 8/21/17 eclipse. We have rented cars multiple times - to travel, to get my daughter moved into college, to visit family, etc. We have always used our Visa Debit card without issue. My husband is a law enforcement officer and I am a special education teacher. We are responsible and value our community. We choose to NOT have credit cards and spend money we do not have, borrowing from Big Brother Bank and getting trapped into years of servitude through finance charges that never end. Today, at Dollar, we reserved our car through Expedia and gave our Visa debit card info online to secure our reservation and create our confirmed itinerary. Our Visa debut card was charged $70 for this reservation. My husband drove 45 mins to get this vehicle only to be told by Dollar that you can no longer rent a car with a Visa debit card - only a charge card (with associated finance charges and fees). If our card is good enough to reserve the car, where do they get off making us drive all that way just to spit in our face? This is clearly utilized to discourage people with bad credit or no credit cards from travel, like we are all second class worthless citizens. Forget the money dump into the economy from our cash-paid gas, food, hotels, and CAR. If we won't go into debt to use their cars, then we are unwelcome customers. These are the new "rules". But whose rules are they? What happened to American independence and freedoms? I'm forced to run up a credit card now? My cash isn't good enough? And how in the hell can they accept our Visa debit card to make the reservation, but refuse our card at the counter? They wasted two hours of our lives and delayed our vacation a whole day. I'm disgusted and will never use Dollar or Expedia again.
This is the most rediculus company I've ever seen. Complete incompetence! One person at counter, 20 people in line. Now waiting for cats to arrive... who doesn't have cars available when they are already reserved. NEVER using this company again!
They didn't have the car that I wanted, so they got it from another rental place, which was cool. I was charged twice as much as I took I was going to be, charged, but hey, what can you do?
Wonderful costumer service and the rental process was extremely smooth. I would definitely rent from here again and recommend Dollar to others.
