I needed to complete form I-693 and the staff was helpful and kind enough to give me a price list of all the necessary shots I needed without charging me a dime and gave me the option to shop around for a better price. I went to Dr. Lucey in his role as an AME to get an up-to-date 1st class physical. I had three problems (#2 & 3 being the worst):
I will agree with the other reviewer on one thing. No gloves when conducting the hernia check and no sanitizer afterwards. Lucky for me I was the first patient of the day...... He goes right back to to pen and paper. However, he is a nice gentleman and his facility is very nice inside.
2)I got my Navy flight physical the previous day and (due to a slight astigmatism that is a known issue for me over the last 17 years) had 20/25 vision in my L eye (I have very slight astigmatisms in both eyes, but see anywhere between 20/20 and 20/30 without glasses or contacts on any given day). The next day, on Dr. Lucey's equipment, I had trouble on the 20/100 line! I never see that poorly unaided...his dated equipment is poorly calibrated, so you will end up squinting to pass (if you don't mind cheating). Using my glasses (with which I see 20/10 to 20/15, again depending on the day), I had trouble reading the 20/20 line. I brought up my concerns with his equipment and...he didn't care! He even went so far to say that he'd done six or seven other flight exams that day.
Going to update these reviews. The facility is very nice. I passed the eye exam with no issues as noted in the previous reviews. The audiogram that they offer is not in a booth just a room so be prepared to be listening over the road noise just outside the door.
I have been going here for a few months and there really isn't anything bad I can say about dr. Lucey and especially can't about his staff. Other than the last time I was in I did sit almost an hour past my appointment time, but I don't think it was their fault, I think they had a client with issues that just so happend to get there before me.
3)After finishing the turn your head and cough (hernia) test, I looked back and saw him putting in his hearing aids...****He had not worn gloves!**** So whatever (whomever) he had touched so far that day (it was around noon), it was now all over my 'junk'. Beyond nasty!!!!!
He is a horrible human being and a poor excuse for a doctor
1)I was made to wait more than 1/2 hour past my appointment time (this is unheard of for these exams as pilots pay, in full, up front...no deductible, no insurance claim, no co-pay)
Do not use Dr. Lucey for your civilian flight physical needs!!!
