Davis Hwy location is absolutely disrespectul and inconsiderate. Dr. Belk was the ONLY good person in that entire office and I can imagine I know why he retired. I will never go there again. Please save your time and look elsewhere, their Nurses to the Doctors are unbelieveable. Never again. Never again.
I am writing on behalf of my father, Donald Barrows, Sr. a patient of some years in the care of Dr. Michelle Brandhorst. He has been pleased with the professionalism and compassion this doctor has demonstrated in his healthcare regimen. She was physician to my late mother who died of cancer four years ago. Dr. Brandhorst worked closely with hospice after her own palliative care reached its natural limitation. She has our respect & gratitude for her excellent care of both of our parents. I was previously a patient of Dr. Belk's. He was an amazing doctor and very informative, kind, and caring. At the end of December, I along with many other patients received a letter of resignation, basically citing that Dr. Belk was going to retire effective immediately. I was able to discover that he only retired from Family Medicine and still works with special needs kids. However, the main and primary issue I have experienced at Sacred Heart on Davis Hwy was the transition of having my Doctor retire and getting setup to switch to another doctor at the same location. It was literally like pulling teeth and an arm and a leg. When I saw Dr. Belk I had been receiving monthly medication, when he retired I called the office and they agreed to have a Nurse Practitioner continue to assist until I was able to schedule an appointment to see another doctor and switch over. This appointment to see the Nurse was rescheduled twice without me even knowing about it. When I was finally able to get in and see the Nurse, the woman was named "Dawn" and she was incredibly rude and wasn't helpful at all. You could tell by the moment she walked in the door she was doing anything she could to get out of her job. She treated me like a new patient that had just walked in the door and never been there before. She was absolutely not helpful at all. After the initial meeting with her, I was told the Office had me an appointment setup to see Dr. Brandhorst in March. About a week after seeing, if you want to call her a "nurse practitioner", the office on Davis Hwy called to notify me that Dr. Brandhorst is not willing to see new patients anymore. This was absolutely the last straw and I eventually contacted Sacred Heart, the downtown location. They were aware of Dr. Belk retiring and got me an appt setup within two weeks.
