Dr. Mickler and his staff have taken such good care of our baby daughter, who was born with bilateral congenital cataracts and was essentially blind before her surgeries to have her lenses removed at 7 and 9 weeks old . Dr. Mickler even gave us his cell number after Lanie's first surgery when we had questions about how her eye was healing over the weekend. He is always honest but encouraging and we are so thankful for him. Our daughter is now in either contacts or glasses all the time and at 4 months old is finally able to see well enough to interact with us. Every smile is a gift. Also, he and his staff were very helpful when I was working with Tricare to get both her glasses and contacts covered by insurance, writing new prescriptions and talking with Lanie's pediatrician and optometrist to explain coding and terms in detail. This saved us $700. We would recommend Dr. Mickler and his team to anybody in our situation. He saved our daughter's sight and we are forever grateful.
I went there as a new patient and was told I needed a test done... Its been 6 weeks later and it has still not been done and my ins cancels this next week. So needless to say, due to no fault of my own Im not getting my MRV test done. I did find out that they put my ins in the computer system wrong, the first order that was sent was coded wrong, the 2nd one they sent didnt have the dr signature on it, the 3rd order they sent, I was told it had all been corrected, and now, one day prior to my test and 5 days prior to my ins cxing, they call me to cx because they never did the auth. I spoke with the manager, she did nothing but tell me she had to go to her own drs appt. She said she would have to wait until the dr comes back, and I asked why because the dr doesnt handle the ins auths and she said because, after a long hold, that she was hearing a different story from me than the nurse... of corse she is because the nurse is trying to cover her ass.. They dont care. Do not go here if you want anything done.
Dr. Casey Mickler is treating my 2 year old for an eye that crosses when focusing up close. We never had to sit in the waiting room very long and he is EXCELLENT with children. My son is typically slow to warm up to strangers, but Dr Mickler has him smiling and laughing in no time! My son's eye has improved greatly in the short amount of time that he has been treated. He will probably need bifocals until he's 10 years old or so, but he will most likely grow out if it and not need surgery thanks to Dr. Mickler.
