The facility is filthy. The staff is rude and sets the field of mental health back to early 1900. Patients are treated like criminals rather than patients with an illness. There is no organization or clear plan for treatment patients. There is no compentent counseling stradigy, everyone is just thrown together in a group. Some people who at a level of not even realizing what social boundries are ,and they are allowed to just follow you around babbling and not even wearing underclothes . Both male and females are housed in the facility with little privacy. If you went into the facility for help for depression, I gaurantee you will leave in worse shape then you were when you came into their joke of a facility. The only worse part of the experience is the E.R. for the patient suffering through a crisis situation. I was left there for eight hours without any of my regualr medicationa and when I asked to be sent home so I could at least take care of myself I was tackled by three men who re-injured my neck and back which is fragile from previous surgery. I spent a total of about 8 hours without my medications and only one visit with the doctor when I first arrived. He did not even show up after I was attacked by staff and put in restraints. The reason for the brutal attack was due to my request to speak to Administration about the lack of care which they were responsible for, and seemed to derrvie a great deal of pleasure out of. They even told me on my way up to the pavallion that I was really going to the nut house now and anything can happen in there." I replied "anything?"They laughed and said "yes , anything"
HOWEVER, the group discussions are interesting and the nurses are 8/10 awesome.
Mostly all you do is watch TV or lay in your bed, staring at the ceiling. Not helpful for mentally ill / drug addicted folk. They tend to kick out those in most need on the street far too early when they run out of insurance.
