If I could give this place a negative star, I would. One night at work i started having horrid chest pains and numbness in my left arm. Although this is the closest hospital to me it's still about a 30 minute drive. So, I called to see what the wait time was so I could weigh my options (call EMS or try to make it to another hospital). The reason why is because last time this happened I was actually having a stroke and because they were "busy" I was left in a wheelchair in the hallway. I ended up having to go to West Florida where I was PROMPTLY and PROFESSIONALLY treated. Anyway, the woman I spoke to who refused to give me her name snapped at me and told me that I was an adult and should therefore "know what to do". She couldn't give a wait time because it "varies". Why is it that EVERY OTHER HOSPITAL can give a wait time IF THERE IS ANY FOR SOMEONE HAVING VERY SERIOUS SYMPTOMS?? Don't go here. Try Baptist or West Florida. It may just save your life.
After getting checked out and prescribed an inhaler for bronchitis, I went to the pharmacy to pick it up and they were going to charge me $366 for it with medical insurance. After calling and seeing them to try to change it to something less inexpensive, sacred hearts did not want to can it. This is exactly why I hate the American health system. Guess I'll just die in the street because no one cares when you ask for help in this country.
I was driven way out the way with back pain to get a second opinion after a car wreck. The lady who did my vitals was so rude and disrespectful. I didn't want to go to the other hospitals because of the great experiences I've had here before. After today this will be my last time and I'll let my family and friends know as well. If I wanted a rude opinion about the way I do things I would go to a place where I can pay you for that information. Just do your job without the attitude. If she felt the pain of being rammed by another car maybe the treatment would have been different. On top of that I noticed I had to wait longer in hopes of me leaving. I have great insurance and I'll let them know as well about how this hospital sucks. I wish I could give them no stars. The Lady had a boot on her foot with curly hair
My daughter had to spend the night in the children's hospital about a year ago. They didn't bring her any lunch and the dietary worker was completely rude when I asked about it. The nurses, although nice enough, acted like there was nothing they could do about it. In the end, my 3 yr old received a cold sandwich 2 hrs after everyone else received their lunch. This is unacceptable to me, especially where children are concerned. I would not recommend this hospital.
My mother is a patient there. She went in thru the emergency room. From that time onward she has received excellent care. The staff kept me well informed as to what was happening now and what was going to happen in the future. I found the place to be clean and the staff friendly. I cannot say enough good about this hospital. The only complaint mother has is the food. She says the food is the worst she has ever had. But overall if you have a loved on that you want to have excellent care go to this hospital!
