Great stay. Location and price also great. About 8 miles to public beach... I got exactly what I expected. Rooms are a little dated but hey, I did pick the historical district! It was expected to be little older. Staff great. And she shared best ways to avoid pesky service fees that reservation companies charge when doing reservation online. I'm about ready to make my next reservation here!!

Great location but kind of a dingy hotel. To make sure the door latched closed I had to slam it really hard. The toilet and tub area had mold, and there was a big chunk of enamel missing on the tub. There was stains around the wall by the toilet and the ceiling above the tub looked like there was a leak from the space above with blistered paint. If I would have paid $40 for the night I would have expected this. Even though $85 is not a lot to see some people, it is to me and for this price they should at least use bleach to clean with and fresh paint once a year. The ironing board cover was stained and ripped also. At least the sheets and towels were clean.

Unbeknownst to me, they charge a "beach tax" of 11% on top of room. The highest I've ever paid was in Hawaii where it's 13%. Had no idea. Stay further away so you don't get hit with this tax. This hotel is at least 10 miles from the beaches, which in traffic, can take you 20 minutes. The place also had cockroaches in the room and the smell was horribly musty even with a/c on. Welcome to Florida! Staff was great though and they have an onsite restaurant/bar.

Terrible experience. The room smelled strongly of mildew, and there were areas of the wall in the bathroom that were soft and rotten. Headboard was peeling. The patio area behind the main building had a band or music playing loudly beginning at 10:00pm which made it impossible to sleep. Stay away if you like to have a peaceful night of sleep.
