Great food,great atmosphere,Norma will be missed...
I always choose Norma's for lunch when I can. The champagne chicken salad with the added poppyseed dressing is amazing. The bread pudding is also delicious. Can't beat the price and the ambiance!
This establishment is now called Jo's, under new management. The poppyseed loaf was quite dry upon my visit, though under Norma's hand it was one of the biggest attractions. The ambience is still cozy and polished and the service continues to be quite good.
The service tends to be alright, but both the wait and price for the food is not worth it for the quality of the food. The gumbo, their special, has the consistency of snot. I ordered the quiche that had so much shredded American cheese, I had to scrape it off. It wasn't good at all. The dessert selection is very small, and the cookie that was handed to me was hard like it had been sitting out for a few months. Would not recommend and will not be going back.
The soups, chicken salads & bread pudding have been a Pensacola favorite for many years. You can't be a Pensacola native & not visit Norma's for lunch & fall in love with her rainy day comfort food ❤
