Great little pet store that seems to care about the well-being of their animals. Very knowledgeable staff but one of the owners seems like he has a bit of an attitude problem sometimes. It's great to see a store like this in Pensacola where the owners know what they're doing and will help you be successful in owning an exotic or semi-exotic animal. Prices do seem a little extreme in some cases though.
I recently went into Panhandle Exotics and had a wonderful experience learning about some of the animals they had there. Though the animals are no touch (for their safety and yours) I thought it was endearing to see the animals keep trying to get my attention by standing up on the glass, begging to be loved regardless of the rules, that tells me that they are more than ready for finding their forever homes! I was so pleased with the way Chris and Derek handled their business that I decided to purchase a female raccoon from them. They answered any questions I had and gave me tips here and there which was much appreciated. I give Panhandle Exotics 5 ⭐️‘s !!!
The people who work here are amazing and very informative. You can hold and pet the animals (The ones that it is safe for them to be held). There are animals here that you will not see in any other pet store. The place is clean and you can tell the animals are cared for. There is hand sanitizer available for between animals. And I cannot say enough how nice and knowledgeable the ladies in this little shop are!
I've only been to this store once due to moving 45 minutes away. I went to check out bearded dragons because my daughters wanted one. Chris was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He allowed my daughters to hold one but encouraged them to go home and research and educate themselves. I've seen bad reviews and complaints regarding Chris but I can tell you I didn't have any issues whatsoever. Read signs, follow rules and respect the owners, animals and the business. I can assure you that when we are in the market for a new pet, I will travel to Panhandle Exotics for a new family addition.
Had a great experience, staff is so helpful and friendly! I adopted two sweet rats from them and they are very healthy and happy girls! The staff asked me a lot of questions before adopting them to make sure I knew what I was doing, which I found comforting that they don’t give their animals to just anyone.
