The people are amazing and the birds even more!!!! Loved being able to hold and pet the birds and feed them. Definitely going back there every time we visit!
I would highly reccomend this place. It's really neat to interact with the birds, especially the cockatoos. There are peacocks wandering around, perching in the oak trees and it's super neat! Reed, one of the workers, was so friendly and eager to teach us about the birds and show us around. The location is shaded by trees so the sun isn't killer. This place is a little gem.
We live in the area and finally had a chance to visit this place. Its only $5.00 per adult to get in, which includes a cup of food to feed the birds and the 2 emu that they have there, so the price wasn't bad. But, don't think we would go back there, as it really wasn't anything special, and my husband and I both thought it was somewhat boring. They offer you bug spray as you're going into the area where the birds are, and I strongly recommend using it, as I didn't use it, and when we exited the park, both of my legs had what looked like bug bites all over them..my legs were so bad that I had to go to the store and buy something to put on them! Not a pleasant experience. :-(
Highly recommend visiting Uncle Sandy's Macaw Bird Park. The staff was very helpful and available to answer questions. One staff member showed us a macaw we hadn't seen yet who is blind and loves to be fed fruit. We had a great time feeding all the birds. Some of the birds talked a lot. We held and played with a beautiful cockatoo. This is not a zoo. The facility is small and a loving home to many birds that lost their original home. So glad Uncle Sandy created a home for these birds. We will be back soon.
VERY HOT. It was so fun though! The birds love to interact and the volunteers are so, so knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anyone.
