Response: Your analogies are unrelated and exaggerated. My main problem, other than your disregard for people’s property, is that I did call to ask about my machine. Your personnel could not find it in their records and appeared to be put out by the fact I called after a few days inquiring about it versus them calling me. The customer service should have been apparent in my review. When I dropped off my machine I did not get a yellow receipt, as they stated, and therefore did not know of your disposal policy. When I went to get my machine we were not even in your system, which lends merit to my claim as they did not know what to tell me. They stated my machine was there for three months, which by your own analogy was inaccurate and false anyway. Then they finally called me back about my machine, which was after I had to call them, that was the only call I got. No, hey, please come get your machine before we trash it. Nothing of the sort. My desktop did not take up the same space as a “car” in a mechanic’s shop as your so flamboyantly put it so a courtesy call advising about your “recycling” policy is not too much to ask from a reputable business. I hope more people see my post as it appears a few people have had similar issues with your lack of communication issues, outlandish prices and service. I wish I would have come here first to see. Shame on me I guess.

UPDATE: I had several questions regarding the transfer of data, etc. I repeatedly spoke with Andrew, since my knowledge is limited in this area, and once again, questions were answered, even as I continued to apologize for bothering him, yet was told, call or come in anytime I had a question or problem. Once again, amazing.

I took 2 external hard drives (which I was told by other repair shops were irreparable) to Palafox. I met with both Andrew and Darren on a Saturday, was quoted with a price that was amazing and was told by closing that they were able to retrieve ALL of the data on those 2 drives. For someone like me, whose life was on those drives, I cannot tell anyone how grateful, impressed and how awesome their service was. There are no words. I HIGHLY recommend them and know that in the future, should I have ANY issues with my computer or drives, that I am a life customer.

Best computer shop in town! Recently bought a refurbished MacBook Pro from them. The owner is super cool. He gave me an insanely good deal and even threw in a 16g RAM for free and on top of that the technician installed it in less than 5 minutes!!!! If you’re in the market for a new computer or need a repair look no further!

I would rate less than one star if possible. This place had my computer called me once and then put it in the recycle bin. They say they gave me a yellow copy of a receipt which says I have 30 days to pick it up and I never got that. Least they could do is give you more than one call and let me know that if I don’t come get it it’s going to be thrown away. It was quite a lot of stuff on the computer worth money. The customer service was a joke too.

Beware! I called and asked what the fee would be to look at a laptop that might have some liquid damage. I was told on the phone it would be $55 to evaluate it. When I got there, I then was told $89. No big deal. The young man that waited on me said that if a board is shorted-out, it could be as much as $289 to repair it. I said, if it's that much, I would have to think about it, since it's a couple of years old. I would at least like to retrieve my documents, pictures, etc. He said when they diagnose the problem(s), he would call me and give me my options. They called me the next morning and told me that it was working fine, and they couldn't really find anything wrong with it. Maybe a board "breaker switch" tripped, but it was working, with no problems. When my wife picked it up, they handed her a bill of $180! They didn't give her any type of paperwork that detailed what they did for that price. I was really upset when she got home so I called them. A different gentleman said that there must have been a "communication" problem. Right, you told me one thing and tried to double the price on me! We cleaned contacts, blah, blah, blah. Did you ever call me before you decided to charge me twice as much as I was told?! No, you didn't. He did refund me back some money, which was the right thing to do. I'd really think twice about taking a computer to them. I will never, ever darken their door again and I suggest you don't, either, unless your estimate is written out and detailed instructions given to them before the work is done.

As a recent college grad I let them know up front that I did not have all the $ in the world to sink into my computer problems. I could have not asked for better service. Not only did Andrew go above and beyond in his customer service, but broke down exactly what was wrong with my computer in simple terms (that way if I had similar issues I could explain it coherently later). I am the type to usually go to big chains and not take the chance on local unknown shops...but if you are browsing online and hope to run into some friendly people, come here! I will continue to come here as long as Andrew is working there!
