One star isn't even good enough for this school ! This has been my kids third year at this school , and it has been by far the worst year !! The principal is a joke , Monica Harris says "she doesn't put up with bullying at all" but when my child is constantly being bullied and notified the teachers nothing was done so my daughter stood up for herself as soon as my daughter did that the principal didn't waste any time to pull my daughter out of the class and proceed to tell her she will be sending the police to my house . My daughter came home in tears telling me this the school never contacted me about any of this . The principal teaches a fourth grade math class along with a substitute because the regular math teacher quit because the kids are horrible and uncontrollable my daughter had an A in math as soon as the math teacher left and the substitute and principal started teaching her grade dropped to a C that is the only class my daughter has a problem in my daughter tells me how the principal will have the misbehaving kids in her and during her math class come up crying and screaming the principal will just tell the kids to ignore them how is a fourth grader supposed to learn when the principal has all the misbehaving kids constantly interrupting the math class this is so unacceptable and and heart breaking not to mention that when a child does something wrong they get rewarded by having lunch with the assistant principal who hears one side of every story and threatens to suspend the other child when she doesn't even know what is going on the principal needs to do her job as a principal not a teacher there is no way you can do both the school is so unorganized half of these kids parents live in the projects there are no field trips there are no festivals field day is awful like this year my daughter came home oh field day is Friday no paper was sent home or anything the have no fun activities at this school period it's a awful school race is a big issue as well please don't send your child/ children here if you can help it

We just moved here and I was skeptical bout the school but it's a very good school!!

The school principal recently handed out a racist book to all teachers stating it was mandatory reading. This "For White Folks Who Teach in the Hood" the author is only in favor of the "black" American youth and feels that in Oder to properly teach this group, is to provide black adults to properly groom the students to be "culturally black" people. Obviously no other race can do this. He also presses that teachers need to adjust the teaching and the way we respond to the black culture. Example: running down the hall is part of the black culture. Why is this mandatory for teachers and why are other races being singled out? What about the entire rest of the population of the school? Considering 46% of the school population isn't addressed in this book is alarming. Is it safe to assume if this agenda wasn't being pushed that maybe the 40% FSA fail rate would improve?

I haven't seen this school in years..oh the memories. ..
