My family and I have been with this church 15 years

I attended this church as a visitor to my dear friend. It was their Memorial day service on May 28, 2017 so there were a lot of vistors there when I arrived I was told to take my God daughter to the nursery, she didn't want to stay. So I brought her back into the church service I was then asked multiple times by multiple members if I wanted to take her to the nursery and so I tried again and she still wouldn't go. I'm not going to lie she was crying and it was causing a little distraction, so one of the members comes along and physically take her out of my arm and takes her to the nursery. That really upset me. We were sitting by some other visitors and we introduced ourselves to each other and we were having a good time. Then a lady came back there to the people who were sitting next to us and she asked them if they wanted to move up and away from so many distractions. The people said no. I then was introduced to the pastors wife who just so happens to be the same lady from the latter statment and what she said to me is what caused me to give such a low score to this church she said and I quote "She (my god daughter) must not be used to going to church". I find that very offensive to say to someone, sometimes kids just have bad days, because for your information we go to church every Sunday and Wednesday. I teach Sunday School, Children's Church, Praise dance and the Children's chior. Which requires me to also go on some Tuesdays and Saturdays, so she is very comfortable going to church, but I will always remember something my mother taught me, babies can feel people's spirits better than we can and I really feel like she felt that negative spirit. The music and the Sermon was awesome just very disappointed in someone who calls them self a pastors wife to say such rude things.

I thought this church was going to be a very good church, but instead this church was the total opposite. All I felt was hate there, and most of the members in this church starred at me so hatefully. The pastor is hypocritical and a biggot. The pastor in this church spoke on President Obama, and when he did, the white people that sat to the far left facing the pastor turned their heads over at me and some other members of different races other then themselves, and they just looked at us with such hate that I felt that I could actually cut the air in this church with a knife, because the hate and other evil spirits they carried hung so have with a knife. I never even voted for Obama anyways. Then one member of this church walked up to me and tried to make a joke by saying, that I looked like this short dark African lady which was from Africa. I am like 4 inches taller then the woman she tried to compare me too and I had longer hair and lighter in complexion. She laughed and said " oh is this your mother." I picked up that this woman was being sarcastic and mean. I would never go back to this church. If you are not of the same race they are or to their liking, I promise that you will be hurt and discourage. I should not pass judgment like this one, but I am going to say this, and that is when a rapture hits, most of the members in this church is going to be lost. It's said that the people in this church sings about how much they love the Lord. How can you love a man that made people the way he saw fit ? One last note to leave with this review is, how can you love Jesus and hate his creations? How can you when Jesus himself was born within the race of Jewish people and that land is near darker race of people. This church is truly lost. Please avoid this church if not, then you will be very sorry as I was. There is a difference in being intimidated by something you think you saw that isn't right or ungodly, because you are assuming that the people of this church is like this. But it is different when you look at someone for sure and you know what you saw not think you saw, but saw it with out a doubt that you know for sure isn't right and ungodly because you experienced it first hand and it's very concrete. Not just a figment of one looking for or imagining something you not sure that you saw. When the pastor of this church spoke of Obama, all the whites from the left side of my shoulder facing the pastor, glared at us, and one man couldn't even stop looking. His upper lip curled up like he was snarling at us.I know what I felt and saw. Therefore, intimidation doesn't compare or even fit that description. Another thing, I agree with you about Obama, but you bringing him up in church is not what made me intimated of anyone. But when you said his name, more then 16 or 17 turned their heads and glared. And to finish this off, I never voted for Obama in his first or second terms. I already knew what he was, and my kids are not fully black. Thank you and have a good day.

My husband and I visited this church while we were vacationing in Pensacola. The congregation was very friendly. The music was a blessing to my heart and the message was very Biblical, convicting and encouraging. I highly recommend this church and it is so nice to find a church that still preaches truth using the KJV.

I am very sorry that Ms Faith Wallace felt intimidated by her attendance in our church. We have numerous members of other races and love every one of them. I, as Pastor, have taken issue with some of the wicked and anti-Christian policies of our President and his administration and am quick to share those feelings with everyone who asks. I have some very good black Pastor friends who feel the same way. Not appreciating Obama's doings does not make me a racist any more than it makes those good black pastor's racists for the same reason. If you would return I would personally introduce you to the church and show you that your assessment is incorrect. Smyrna Baptist Church is the most Biblical church I have ever been associated with.
