Stopped in upon recommendation of a fellow whiskey enthusiast. Perfectly prepared cocktails alongside great private barrel selections and a large range of whisk(e)y. Great hospitality from the whole staff (I think the bartender was Mark, but I had a few, and I was exhausted, so I apologize if I'm wrong on this one!). Will be back!
I really like this place, especially during the week, when there are much fewer people. The bartenders are fairly knowledgeable, and can make great suggestions for a whiskey that will suit you. I just avoid the place on weekends, when it's standing room only.
This is the best whiskey bar I have ever been to!

The atmosphere here is drop down gorgeous. On a Saturday, my friend and I were walking, and so many people recommended my friend to go to the Hickory bar, but she didn't want to go alone. We walked in, and you instantly felt like you were knocked back into some historical tour about whiskey. They had whiskey bottle lights coming from the ceiling, they had old portraits of presidents, they're ginormous whiskey and alcohol wall was to die for. What's more, the waiters were very experienced. I video tape the entire process that he made this Rose whiskey. It definitely felt like an experience. The only thing I can think is that if Disney Springs had this type of place, it would be jam packed with people. But since we're lucky enough to get in Pensacola, we get the rare privacy of the special Whisky Bar to ourselves.
I will be back (I live 3 hours away!). Its well worth the drive.
The staff were warm and inviting, knowledgeable, and friendly. Their specialty drinks were excellent and the atmosphere kept me there most of the night. I'm glad I started at this bar, if I had ended my night at this bar (having only just found it) and only had an hour there, I would have been sad.
Old Hickory Whiskey Bar, while sometimes crowded, has a warm atmosphere and a classy whiff of delicious whiskey in the air. I would recommend this place for a small group of friends, especially if you’re out hitting multiple bars throughout the night. The bar tenders are friendly and as long as you’re polite, you can expect to be treated with respect.
