Friendly place with interesting cocktails.
Small bar. Good drinks. A little over priced in my opinion. Relaxing atmosphere. I don't like that the restrooms are in the back alley thing.
My husband and I walked into the bar at 6:30 tonight with our 8 month old baby. We've heard a lot about this place and wanted a craft cocktail. The bartender would not serve us even though we explicitly explained that we wanted a cocktail and wanted to sit outside in the alfresco seating. The bar tender refused to serve us because we are parents with a child. I've never been publicly shamed for being a parent and wanting a cocktail until tonight.

Was denied service simply because we had a child with us, & was inappropriately & rudely parent-shamed as a result. Bartender's reasoning was simply that he did not feel comfortable serving two people who are with their child. I understand if the child is not allowed into the bar because of his age, but that is no legitimate reason to completely deny service to verifiable of-age patrons, especially when you have outside seating, it is 6:30 on a Friday night, & there are numerous other parents downtown with their children in restaurants & on the streets drinking alcohol freely & responsibly. The implication that two individuals are irresponsible parents simply because they want to get a drink while out on the town with their child is nothing short of extremely pathetic & ignorantly insulting. It wasn't simply that he denied service, it was the shameful unmeasured guilt-tripping way in which he denied service, as if we were bad parents who should not be seeking out an alcoholic drink while watching our child. New parents rarely try to get out of the house anyway because of the constant energy & demand it takes to raise a child. And the one night out on the town we finally take ends up by encountering this A-hole first, insinuating that we shouldn't even be trying to solicit a good time under such circumstances. This surprising exchange almost ruined our entire Friday night, as this was our first stop & the main place my partner wanted to go. But we wouldn't let it define our evening, as we then just went to V. Paul's Italian restaurant instead & had a delightful meal along with a couple alcoholic drinks apiece, arriving safely back home to our destination with our child intact & unscathed. Such tactless etiquette is the hallmark of a lack of professionalism, & possibly even maturity. Bartender clearly never had any kids of his own. If & when he ever does, I hope he remembers that exchange & this review. I will never go here again, & will strongly advise others to do the same.
